Geometry in Life

1 post

Geometry is the branch of mathematics with the shortest distance to the visible world. The hexagons in a honeycomb, the spiral of a shell, the trusses in a bridge, the way a GPS trilaterates a position — all of it is the same material a contest paper tests, wearing different clothes.

These articles follow geometry out of the classroom. They’re the ones to read when the abstraction needs a reason to exist, and they’re useful in the other direction too: a configuration you’ve seen in the world is one you’ll recognize faster on paper.
